Can I use Satdata in motion?

Absolutely! We use Starlink, among others, and this allows us to use SatData while on the move as well. The Starlink Roam, Local Priority, and Global Priority plans support use while on the move up to 160 km/h (100 mph) at authorized locations.

Starting in March 2026 and in selected markets, Starlink is offering new Aviation plans for high-speed applications. If your activities move faster than 160 km/h, consider Aviation 300MPH or Aviation 450MPH. If you are interested in switching to one of these plans, please create a ticket with support.

Use of Starlink while in motion is prohibited on land and permitted for maritime use in the following regions: Colombia, Costa Rica, Japan, Jordan, Malaysia, Mexico, Spain, South Korea, Indonesia.

Service plans that support use while on the go

• Roam 50 GB and 100 GB: Inland waters and territorial waters (up to 12 nautical miles from the coast). Limited to 5 consecutive days and 60 days per year in these waters.
• Roam Unlimited: same as Roam 50 GB; optional Ocean Mode for extended use beyond 12 nautical miles, above the 5/60 day limits, with higher network priority. Enable/disable in account (e.g. enable away from the coast, disable within 12 nautical miles). Ocean Mode billed per GB; intended for water, but usable on land for priority.
• Local Priority: coverage on land (including lakes/rivers); up to 60 days in the region outside the home country. Not for worldwide/ocean use; coastal/territorial waters not permitted.
• Global Priority: worldwide coverage on land and at sea; in motion wherever Starlink is available. Consistent pricing worldwide; a maximum of 2 terminals per line on the same vehicle/ship.
• Aviation 300MPH: Designed for aircraft operations up to 480 km/h (300 mph). Includes 20 GB per month; optional overage billed per GB. Identity verification required. Coverage over land, territorial waters, and within 12 nautical miles of the coast.
• Aviation 450MPH: Designed for aircraft operations up to 725 km/h (450 mph). Includes 20 GB per month; optional overage billed per GB. Identity verification required. Same coverage as 300MPH, plus ocean coverage.

Subscriptions that do not support use while on the go

• Use while on the move is not permitted with the Residential or Residential Lite subscriptions, in accordance with the Fair Use Policy.
• Pausing your service with standby mode is not intended for use while on the move.

Important notes

• Powered Starlink models (with motors) are not recommended for use while moving due to safety risks.
• Ocean Mode is activated immediately after you enable it in your account and remains enabled until it is manually disabled.
• Ocean Mode can be used on land (billed per GB) and offers higher priority than Roam data.
• If you exceed the data limits without adding more data, internet access over the ocean will be restricted.
